Monal Digital is a kids' animation company from the Himalayan foothills. We make Monal Kids and Zappy Toons, so we track these charts for a living.

"Most popular" means something different on every screen. On streaming it is minutes watched; on Netflix it is views; on YouTube it is lifetime plays. So this guide keeps the three apart, gives the numbers for each, and then looks at what the winners have in common. Every figure is sourced and dated.

How this list was measured#

  • Streaming. Nielsen's half-year streaming report for the United States, covering 29 December 2025 to 28 June 2026, ranked by total minutes viewed for everyone aged two and up.
  • Netflix. Views reported by Netflix for 2026 to date, grouped across all seasons, as compiled by What's on Netflix in October 2026.
  • YouTube. Lifetime channel views from YouTube's own pages, as recorded in our ranking of the most popular kids' channels in September 2026.

The most watched kids' shows on streaming in 2026#

Nielsen counts minutes, so long-running series with deep libraries lead. Three kids' shows made the top ten of all streaming series in the first half of 2026, against every adult drama on every platform.

1. Bluey#

  • Platform: Disney+
  • Minutes viewed, H1 2026: 22.81 billion
  • Rank among all streaming series: #2, behind only the final season of Stranger Things

A seven-minute show about a family of Australian cattle dogs is the second most watched series in America. Bluey's secret is that parents watch it without being asked.

2. SpongeBob SquarePants#

  • Platform: Paramount+
  • Minutes viewed, H1 2026: 16.89 billion
  • Rank among all streaming series: #7

Twenty-seven years on, with hundreds of episodes, SpongeBob keeps a generation of parents and a generation of kids in the same room.

3. Paw Patrol#

  • Platform: Netflix, Prime Video and Paramount+
  • Minutes viewed, H1 2026: 13.56 billion
  • Rank among all streaming series: #10

The only preschool series in the top ten, and the one most spread across platforms. It also appears on Netflix's own 2026 chart below, in ninth place.

The kids' movies of 2026#

Nielsen's kids' movie chart, where at least 30 percent of minutes come from viewers aged two to eleven, was led by Zootopia 2 on Disney+ with 6.54 billion minutes, followed by KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix with 5.59 billion.

The most watched kids' series on Netflix in 2026#

Netflix reports views rather than minutes, which favours short episodes that get replayed. That is why preschool titles dominate this chart.

RankSeriesNetflix views, 2026 to date
1Peppa Pig81.8M
2The Creature Cases49.3M
3Masha and the Bear40.4M

5Little Angel38.1M
6Booba32.7M
7Lottie Dottie Chicken31.5M
8Paw Patrol27.5M
9Bebefinn26.5M

Peppa Pig at number one, with double the views of CoComelon, is the surprise. Five-minute episodes, a library going back to 2004 and a global dub catalogue make it the most replayed show on the service.

The most watched kids' channels on YouTube#

YouTube is where the largest numbers live. These are lifetime views, so the chart rewards channels that have published consistently for a decade.

Cocomelon has more lifetime views than the next three channels combined. Two of the top ten are Indian, ChuChu TV and Infobells Hindi, and three publish in a language other than English. The full breakdown, with upload cadence and what each channel does well, is in our kids' channels ranking.

India's kids' audience is split between global nursery rhymes in Hindi and home-grown cartoon franchises on TV and YouTube.

  • Infobells Hindi is the largest Hindi nursery rhymes channel, with 72.8M subscribers and 50.2B lifetime views.
  • ChuChu TV, from Chennai, is the biggest Indian kids' channel by subscribers at 98.2M.
  • Cartoon Network India carries Lamput, Ben 10 and The Powerpuff Girls and, in a recent vidIQ snapshot, drew 85.9M views in thirty days.
  • Discovery Kids India runs Hindi series including Little Singham, Kris Roll No 21 and Fukrey Boyzzz.
  • Zappy Toons, a 3D Hindi nursery rhymes channel, reached 33.7M subscribers and 26B views; here is how it was built. Monal Kids, a rhymes-and-stories channel set in the Himalayas, passed one million subscribers in 2026.
  1. A character a two-year-old can name. Bluey, Peppa, Chase, JJ, Masha. Every chart leader is a face first and a show second.
  2. Short episodes that end where they started. Seven minutes for Bluey, five for Peppa, three for a nursery rhyme. Replay is the metric that matters, and short episodes get replayed.
  3. Songs. Most of YouTube's top ten are music channels. Even Bluey and Paw Patrol lean on a theme a child can sing.
  4. Parents who do not mind. Bluey's rank among all streaming series is not a kids' number. It is a family number.
  5. Local language, done properly. El Reino Infantil, Masha, Infobells and Galinha Pintadinha won their home markets before they went global, and they did it in the first language, not a dub.
