Boards are the cheapest place to fail
A storyboard is where a sequence is at its most flexible and its least expensive. We are ruthless here, cutting scenes, re-timing jokes, and re-staging shots, because every problem solved on a board costs a hundredth of what it costs after animation.
The middle stages nobody talks about
- Layout: staging cameras and blocking before any polish.
- Animation: performance first, mechanics second.
- Lighting: the stage where flat work suddenly feels like film.
Most of an episode's quality is decided in layout, long before the parts that get the applause.
Final frame
Compositing is where it all comes together, adding grain, grade, depth, and the tiny imperfections that make a frame feel photographed rather than computed. When it works, nobody notices the pipeline at all. That's the point.
